After my first visit to Europe in 1964, I had dreadfully itchy feet!  I met an Australian girl who had worked as a governess in Greece, and I was determined to do the same.  I was teaching in Salisbury in 1965, so I was lucky enough to be able to attend evening classes in modern Greek at the University.  By the time I got to Greece I thought I was pretty good at the language - HA! I soon learnt how little I knew....
 



Anyway, I set off with a couple of introductions but no job lined up.  UDI had happened a few months before I left, and luckily for me Greece was one of the few countries which accepted Rhodesian passports.

So, with the confidence of youth, I stepped off into the unknown...
