Europe 1964

On each page, you can click on the postcards to read
them, and on my photographs to see a larger image.

We loved the scenery in Austria, and
were amazed at the steep mountainsides
rising to peaks unimaginably high.

Innsbruck was a lovely little town
- we were sorry not to stay longer.
Austria's scenery enthralled me - everything so neat and so green. There were many houses with murals of saints painted on their outside walls. All very much like picture postcards - but none of my photographs were very successful!
One thing that amused us in Austria was the money - 100 groschen to the schilling and 70 schillings to the pound sterling - so we wondered what was the point of having groschen at all (but we had not yet met lire, with notes as big as hand towels!!!)
