Europe 1964

On each page, you can click on the postcards to read
them, and on my photographs to see a larger image.

Myself in St Mark's Square. We stayed
on the Lido, and did all the things one does
in Venice - the glass factory, a gondola
ride, admired the art in the Doge's Palace.

The red jacket is borrowed - I was
not allowed into St Mark's with
my arms uncovered.

Ferry ticket to the Lido

My friend Judy in the blue jumper,
and Di, A New Zealander we met
on the tour, with whom I am still
in touch.
I loved Venice; its friendly atmosphere, its beauty and history. We had a romantic gondola trip one evening with a singing gondolier - and it was ALMOST perfect, except for the rat... and the stink!
